Dominican Republic Online Gambling License
Although it is technically possible for local gambling websites to acquire licenses, the best online casinos in the Dominican Republic are run by large, international companies. Our laws do not require offshore sites to acquire a local gambling license, so very few gaming brands have gone through the trouble to get a local license. A gambling license is imperative for the online casino sector. To establish a successful business, you need a gambling license. To get a license is not so easy as the process requires lots of challenges and efforts. The qualification for license changes depending on states and countries as well. There are some legal frameworks which dominate. The largest gambling city in Dominican Republic is Santo Domingo with 12 gambling facilities, 135 tables games, 1,730 gaming, slot, and video poker machines. The largest casino in the entire country of Dominican Republic is Hard Rock Casino Punta Cana which is located in Punta Cana.
This week a statement came from Canadian online gambling developer Amaya Gaming Group, announcing that the company obtained a license to operate its online gambling offering in the Dominican Republic, including slots, table games like Blackjack, Roulette, Sicbo, Craps and Baccarat, as well as online poker.
The launch of an online gambling site should be realized before the end of the year, probably by the Q3 of 2011, added the company, which recently obtained a license to operate an SMS-based mobile lottery in Kenya.
Amaya President and CEO David Baazov on this occasion stated: 'We are extremely pleased to have secured this license to operate online gaming in the Dominican Republic. We believe our extensive gaming library and technological capabilities have been key deciding factors in securing this license. As one the fastest growing segments of the entertainment industry, online gaming still represents a significant untapped market segment for Amaya.'
